The weather shone on the 36th Exmoor Clouds, the organisers had struggled against the threat of the foot and mouth outbreak and then the postal strike, but the event went on and proved to be a very enjoyable days motorsport.

Well done to G Walker, 1st overall bike on his Honda dropping no marks and best car went to Dudley Sterry and Chris Phillips who took overall honours in their MG J2
CLOUDS RESULTS

The event is a championship round of the Association of Classic Trials Clubs(ACTC) and the Associocition of South Western Motor Clubs. The event consists of approx 14 obsevred sections linked in a route of 80 miles using the public highway.   The event is scored by markers at the side of the section from 12 to 1 at the top, marks are scored by getting the front wheels past the marker. The competitor with the lowest score will be the winner. To make things more difficult on some sections a restart may be included for some classes, where the competitor is required to stop and restart. And time tests are used to in the event of a tie.

 

The 1999 event was won by Anthony Young / John Radford in a VW Special from Henstridge who dropped 0 marks, with five others also on zero marks, but he was quicker on the time test deciders. First overall in the bikes was David Chick from Taunton on a Ariel HT, who also cleaned all the sections.
