Keith
Hole Memorial
15th Classic Tour of Exmoor |
||
This years Classic Tour of Exmoor has in its title a memorial to Keith Hole. Keith and Pat Hole gave birth to the Tour, and its fitting that following Keith's death last September we remember him in its title. At the time of his death, Keith was both competition secretary and treasurer in our club and was involved in almost every activity that we do. Typically Keith died doing what Keith did, he had been at the Porlock Carnival helping to marshal the parking of cars, and then he went for a pint when he had the old chest pains, and sadly he died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. He is missed by all who knew him and we have all lost a true friend.
Pat is carrying on as Entries
Secretary this year which will be the 15th running of the event. The tour
is a Touring Car Assembly for cars manufactured prior to 1st August 1988.
And any other vehicles of special interest may be included by invitation of
the Organisers. It is not a competition. The event will take place on Sunday
17th August 2008, with a choice of 60 or 100 mile routes. The start will be
at Watchet Marina ant the finish at Allerford Fete.

The 13th Classic Tour of Exmoor took place on 20th August 2006 offering a choice of 60 or 100 mile routes. The Classic Tour is a Touring Car Assembly for cars manufactured prior to 1st August 1993, other vehicles of special interest may be included by invitation of the Organisers.
Following the success of recent years, the 13th running of the event used the same format as last year with the start from Watchet Marina from 9 am, entrants then visited Blue Anchor, Carhampton, Withycombe, Luxborough, Winsford, Simonsbath, Barbrook, Lynton, Valley of the Rocks Lynmouth and Porlock before finishing at the Aller Fete in Allerford. The entry fee included coffee/tea at the start, a numbered plate, a commemorative brass plaque and two cream teas at the finish. All this and a wonderful day on Exmoor.
| Sadly,
after receiving his entry, we learnt of the death of Richard Cotton. We extend our sincere condolences to Jenny and the Cotton family |
